JOB SUMMARY
This position requires a strong knowledge of electrical systems while also being required to perform mechanical duties on all preventative, scheduled and unscheduled repairs on converting equipment.
This position requires understanding of supporting systems including but not limited to PLC’s, VFD’s, motor controls and troubleshooting of equipment with power up to and including 480 volts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Works as a self-motivated individual with minimal supervision while functioning as a productive team member.
· Collaborates with other departments and communicates requirements, opportunity areas, the status of work orders, and results.
· Responsible for troubleshooting all converting assets to determine mechanical or electrical failure.
· Maintain the equipment in the assigned area in reliable condition. Attend to breakdowns in a timely manner while continuously reducing downtime and waste.
· Ensure proper PPE is utilized.
· Operating Aerial and PIT lifts when required.
· Consistently developing work orders and PMs and contributing to support continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives to reduce expenses and improve the overall operation.
· Responsible for enforcing and following safety and quality standards, good manufacturing practices, Federal, State, and Local regulations, and adherence to job specifications.
· Troubleshoot, service, and repair facility and production equipment correctly and in a timely manner.
· Experience using Maintenance management system programs.
· Responsible for complex troubleshooting of industrial electrical and electronic systems on converting and packaging equipment including PLCs, VFD’s controllers, servo motors and HMIs
· Perform set-up, adjustment, timing, troubleshooting, replacement, and programming of electrical equipment using ladder logic, electrical prints and/or schematics.
· Control systems utilizing low voltage, PLC programs, 24v systems inc. PID Loop, Instrument control loops.
· Analog instrumentation 480v power distribution system
· Must comply with NEC and NFPA 70e codes.
· Dismantle, inspect, and rebuild electrical assemblies to ensure conformance to specifications or production requirements.
· Ability to understand and follow blueprints manufacturers documentation and manuals.
· As an electromechanical you will also perform mechanical duties such as calibrating, tuning, addressing problems, mechanical equipment repair and preventative maintenance inspections.
· Interpret prints of machine assemblies and wiring diagrams
· Strong mechanical aptitude for pumps, gearboxes, and equipment systems.
· Ability to weld (TIG/MIG) and fabricate a plus but not required
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· 3 years of previous maintenance machine repair experience required.
· 2 years of experience with PLCs such as Allen Bradley, and HMI or an associate degree or equivalent in electrical engineering technology or electronic systems will be accepted.
· Journeyman, Apprentice Certification preferred or in lieu of a journey-level card,
· Basic electrical circuitry knowledge
· Must be able to work overtime as needed including change at the start and end of shift times and weekends.
· Possess strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and strong problem-solving skills.
