Description

Summary: The Residence Manager provide program oversight and supervision. They assist the Director of Residential in managing program policies, budgeting, and staff needs. They must be able to devote time and energy to ensuring the program requirements and services are maintained and conducted in accordance with agency policy and city, state and federal regulations. They must possess the ability to dissolve and resolve conflict within the staff and client structure. They must also have a high level of crisis tolerance and the ability to work through crisis situations in a professional and therapeutic manner. They will act as caretaker/custodian of both the clients and the facility. They monitor client conduct, maintain cleanliness and order of premises; inspect and maintain premises according to standards; orient new residents in rules and procedures/policies of house; work with counseling team and participate in staff meetings. They are responsible for all matters pertaining to safety. Position supervises and develops program staff (Lead Tech, FT , PT & On-Call CD Techs) 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Understand and follow policies and procedures related to client and program rules and regulations to assure consistency in client services and program.
  2. Ensure client understanding and compliance with rules and regulations.
  3. Oversees Lead CD Tech regarding staffing, training, performance appraisals, goal development, and provides support regarding supervision to their employees. 
  4. Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff.
  5. Assist Director of Residential with budget preparation. Manage fiscal policies and functions and authorize program expenditures.
  6. Provide on-call coverage. Be available on an on-call basis to assist shift staff with questions, concerns and on-going shift coverage needs.
  7. Monitor and ensure completion of regular CD Tech tasks to agency specifications on all shifts.
  8. Schedule staff for 24/7 facility coverage. Ensure proper coverage to accommodate for vacations, sick time and holidays.
  9. Maintains regular communication with the Director of Operations regarding necessary information pertinent to program management by regular meetings, participation in management meetings, monthly reports, supervision meetings and other means of accepted communication. 
  10. Under the supervision of Director of Residential, manage program functions and facilities in compliance with all pertinent local, state and federal laws and applicable licensing requirements and standards.
  11. Keep contracting agencies and other interested parties informed on a regular basis with respect to program changes and progress.
  12. Develop and maintain good working relationship with all Progress Valley ancillary programs/services.
  13. Ensure self-development by attending seminars, conferences, etc., to keep apprised of new methods and procedures. Remain current on licensing requirements.
  14. Maintain ethical and professional standards with staff and clients. 
  15. Follow all program policy and procedures.
  16. Respond to and manage client crisis. Follow procedures with regard to communications with clinical staff and management. 
  17. Conduct client intakes including logging in medications, searching client belongings, assigning keys/linens, completing documentation and submitting billing information to billing staff. 
  18. Assess facility cleanliness and housekeeping needs. Complete or delegate tasks, as needed. Bring issues/concerns to maintenance supervisor and/or Director of Operations as needed 
  19. Clerical duties as needed (data entry, filing, coping, & light typing.) 

20. Maintain facility grounds which includes light clean up and overall general appearance of lawn and snow removal, as needed.

21. Understand and coordinate with Maintenance regarding tasks associated with general building wellness systems (heating, water, electric, etc.).

22. Attend training events and staff meetings as required by your supervisor.

23. Ability to transport clients as needed in agency vehicle.

24. Collect urinalysis samples and perform breath analysis testing to clients, as needed.

25. Review all program discharges and transfers. 

26. Arbitrate formal client and staff grievances, as needed.

27. Take part in agency trainings and activities as required by supervisor.

28. Perform other tasks/duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Authority:

Has the authority to admit and discharge residents with input from counseling staff or in emergency situations. 

Has the authority to hire or terminate employees after consultation with and approval from the Director of Residential and/or Director of Operations.

Physical Requirements: 

Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Ability to communicate, converse with and exchange information.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Experience with supervising staff preferred
  • Knowledge and experience working in the chemical health field
  • Highly dependable and effective in managing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Ability to structure time well and develop priorities.
  • CPR/First Aid training or ability to obtain.
  • Ability to work alone with little supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image.
  • Current two step Mantoux/Tuberculosis Skin Test, TB Gold Test, or ability to obtain.
  • Must be able to pass DHS Rule 11 background check. 
  • Minimum 1 year free from chemical use problems, if applicable. 
  • Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds. 
  • Positive driving record (periodic review of driving record required). 
  • Valid state driver’s license.
