Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room

RN - CVOR

Full-Time

Registered Nurse candidates for the Cardiovascular Operating Room will have the following minimum job responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations.
• Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
• Communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition.
• Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met.
• Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure.
• Maintains departmental equipment and supply needs in conjunction with Supervisor and Materials Management.
• Coordinates with Surgery Supervisor regarding staffing and education needs.

Full-Time

Registered Nurse candidates for the Cardiovascular Operating Room must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred
• Current State of Florida Registered RN License, or
• Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced certifications (i.e. CEN, TNCC, etc.) preferred
• One or more years of experience as an Open Heart OR RN
• MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN OPEN HEART SURGERY. CANDIDATES WITHOUT THIS EXPERIENCE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
