Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist candidates will have the following job responsibilities:

• This position is located at the Operating Room facilities at the Elmendorf Joint Base (JBER).
• This position is Mondary through Friday opportunity with clinic hours.
• This position will work with the men and women and the dependents of our U. S. military.
• The CRNA provides anesthetic care for all types of patients in cooperation with the supervising or medically directing physician and under the standards of the Department of Anesthesiology and in accordance with Medical Center policies and procedures.
• The CRNA administers anesthesia to patients rendering them insensitive to pain during surgery, monitors the patient's physical reaction to sedatives, analgesics, and anesthetic agents and informs the anesthesiologist of any adverse condition that potentially threatens the safety or care of the patient.
• Maintains the Performance Standards and Guidelines of the Anesthesia Practice.
• Provides for the delivery of appropriate administration of anesthesia care of the infant through geriatric patient, utilizing the anesthesia process.
• Provides professional assessment, documentation, anesthesia administration, observation, and resuscitation for the peri-operative patient until control of vital functions is regained.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist candidates must meet the following minimum job qualifications:

• Candidates must be U. S. citizens.
• Must have successfully completed an accredited nursing program.
• Must have successfully completed an accredited CRNA program.
• Musthave a valid CRNA license in any state, territory, or protectorate of the United States.
• Must have a valid and current RN license from any state, territory, or protectorate of the United States.
• Must have a valid BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association approved courses.
• Must have current DEA registrations (or equivalent) without encumbrance.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a thorough background screening.
