The Industrial Technician will have the responsibility to provide leadership, direction, and technical support to cross trained technicians and should possess a strong mechanical aptitude and a journeyman’s understanding of modern industrial electrical control systems and Programable Logic Controllers (PLC). Responsibilities include the servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical, mechanical, and control devices associated with the airports Baggage Handling Systems, Passenger Boarding Bridges, Ground Power Systems, Pre-Conditioned Air Systems and Potable Water Systems.
The successful candidate shall be able to:
Read and understand blue prints, mechanical drawings, electrical and hydraulic schematics.
Read, interpret, and alter PLC Rung Ladder Diagrams and Upload/Download PLC programs and Human Machine Interface (HMI) configurations.
Install and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and well as other devices common in an industrial automation environment.
Maintain and repair Automatic Tag Readers (ATR) and related bar code reading equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair point of use and central plant refrigeration equipment and 400 Hz ground power systems.
Troubleshoot and maintain other hydraulic, pneumatic, hydronic, and plumbing subsystems and components.
Required duties include but not limited to:
Perform, lead, and assign preventive maintenance services/tasks and ensure completion in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) specifications.
Monitor daily equipment operations statistics/logs to verify all equipment is operating to OEM specification and provide corrective action as required.
Ensure staff is performing operations and maintenance services in a safe, efficient, and conscience manner.
Communicate effectively and thoroughly with other shifts, managerial personnel, and customer representatives
Assist in the training and development of other staff members.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or vocational school graduate with courses in blue electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration.
Four (4) year electrician’s apprenticeship or prior relevant experience.
CFC Universal Certification.
$29hr
40 hours per week
