Data Protection Governance Analyst (Information Security) - Overview:
This role is about governance and encryption compliance to help the organization reduce and manage the risks related to one of our biggest assets: our data. The resource.
Will need to be a quick learner to ramp up on the internal tools and processes they need to know to effectively manage the responsibilities of this role. Everything is related to encryption, transmission and storage of data, and other data protection topics.
Team Description:
Data Protection Governance team is responsible for data encryption activities to protect sensitive data in transmission and storage from threat actors. Current efforts focus on managing the effectiveness of current encryption processes deployed across the enterprise, communicating with customers and explaining technical side of encryption, and optimizing processes and metrics to monitor and reduce the risk. This includes monitoring monthly compliance, generating non-compliant reports, working with application managers to set up corrective action plans or risk exceptions, and collect progress updates.
Data Protection Governance Analyst (Information Security) - Roles / Responsibilities:
1. Manage the monthly data protection encryption metrics by researching and analyzing data
2. Communicate with application managers when non-compliant and explain remediation
3. Support reconciliation efforts to update monthly compliance reports using various internal applications.
4. Understanding of Compliance Management and Risk & Governance as part of Log Analysis/Reviews/Monitoring.
5. Creating process documentation like Process control manuals, process maps/flow charts, BRDs.
6. Ensure that new applications adhere to enterprise encryption policies to track compliance on weekly basis
7. Maintain compliance monitoring activities in Excel spreadsheet for audit deliverables
8. Handling Incident and Problem management. Identifying Root cause (RCA), corrective (CA) and (PA) for the issues.
9. Display a high level of critical thinking in cross-functional process analysis and problem resolution for new and existing products.
10. Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
11. Work with Data Protection governance team to identify process gaps and develop training material for application managers and developers on application encryption
12. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.
Data Protection Governance Analyst (Information Security) - Skills/Needs:
1. 6-9 years of relevant experience
2. Solid fundamental knowledge regarding the principles related to data encryption, data transmission and storage infrastructure
3. Information Security/ ITIL Certifications preferred
4. Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Office / Excel
5. Proven analytical and quantitative skills; Data driven and results-oriented
6. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
7. Professional, customer-service oriented
