Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in scaling out our enterprise payment processing system. This position involves designing and implementing large-scale data processing solutions using cutting-edge technologies in Python, AWS services like EMR, Redshift, and Spark. You will work closely with a team of skilled engineers, product managers, and data scientists to build a robust system capable of handling high volumes and high transaction rates with utmost reliability and trust.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and architectures for our new payment processing system.
• Utilize AWS cloud services such as EMR, Redshift, and Spark to build and optimize big data solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Python code to process large datasets.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Ensure data integrity and system reliability by implementing best practices in data security and quality.
• Optimize data retrieval and develop dashboards for data analytics and monitoring.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, specifically with high volume, high transaction systems.
• Expertise in Python and big data technologies such as Apache Spark.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including EMR, Redshift, and other data processing technologies.
• Proven ability to architect and scale high-availability systems from scratch.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the payments industry or financial services.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages or data processing frameworks.
• Experience in building systems designed for financial transactions with a focus on security and trust.
