We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to join our client's team, a local manufacturing facility in Noblesville, Indiana. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Job Title: Purchasing Agent
Location: Noblesville, IN
Hours: 8am-5pm, M-F
Pay: $21-25/hr
Key Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing:
  • Review CQ/Program requirements and proceed with sourcing activities.
  • Send RFQs (Request for Quotation) to vendors.
  • Send necessary drawings (ensuring drawing release is on file) to vendors if required.
  • Follow up with vendors in case of non-response.
  • Purchasing:
  • Receive PO (Purchase Order) Approval email.
  • Enter PO into the system.
  • Send PO to the vendor.
  • Add PO to Open PO spreadsheet for tracking purposes.
  • Track PO due dates and periodically follow up to ensure timely delivery.
  • Manage any PO issues with suppliers and communicate them to the sales team.
  • Manage payment terms (Credit Card, Wire, Open Account).
  • Complete and return Vendor End User forms as needed.
  • Additional/Occasional Tasks:
  • Assist with kitting activities such as labeling and packaging.
  • Assist the accounting department with payment and invoice issues.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with sourcing processes and vendor management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
