American Society for Microbiology is Hiring a HR Payroll Administrator-Hybrid Near Washington, DC

Job Overview

The HR Payroll Administrator will process and manage all aspects of payroll, including calculating hours, calculating deductions, processing new hires and terminations, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role also administers employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits. In addition, supports the Chief People and Change Management Officer and other members of the team with day-to-day tasks as well as larger projects when needed.

Essential Functions (defines the critical end results expected of the jobholder related to the accountabilities above)

  1. Responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll and for conducting payroll account reconciliations.
  2. Maintains and is subject matter expert on the functionality of the HRIS system, including documentation compliance.
  3. Ensures completion of and distribution of HR compliance notices.
  4. Assists in benefits coordination and responsible for annual open enrollment event.
  5. Responsible for conducting quarterly pension and FSA reconciliations.
  6. Responds timely to employee related inquiries, requests, references, etc.
  7. Supports the Chief People and Change Management Officer with projects, reporting, and document preparation.

Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role and may sit or use PC for long periods of time. Bending, reaching, or stooping may be necessary for use of filing cabinets or other office cabinets or office machines. This job operates in a professional office environment and remote. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
