Principal Financial Group is Hiring a Dental Claims Director Near Des Moines, IA

What You'll Do:

Were looking for a Claims Director to join our Dental Claims team. In this role, youll provide strategic leadership and technical expertise to the dental claim organization to achieve profitable growth and customer service goals. Effectively lead and drive initiatives to achieve operational excellence and a Best in Class claim organization!

  • Create line of sight for, and achieve, productivity, quality, service goals and ensure compliance with all laws/regulations as well as high ethical standards. Direct activities to achieve Benefits and Protection Strategic Performance Measure goals and strategy.
  • Create a high performing culture of employee development and business literacy. Overall responsibility for all hiring, staff development, staff retention, performance management and salary administration.
  • Direct or participate on committees and task groups responsible for improving business practices to lower expenses, increase customer acquisition and/or retention, manage and price for risk or enhance learning, and growth of staff.
  • Negotiate and arbitrate to resolve elevated customer complaints and claim disputes. Represent Benefits and Protection in contract/compliance and/or litigation and legislative matters, and address distribution concerns, in a most financially successfully public relations-oriented result.
  • Serve in executive sponsored capacity for major projects, in collaboration with other divisions and/or business units, to ensure business requirements are met, and benefits realized.

Who You Are:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • 10 years relevant work experience.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Broad knowledge of Benefits and Protection products, philosophies, processes and markets, as well as product marketing and distribution.
  • Requires strong team building skills and the ability to build/maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must be results oriented, with the ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent management, analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Must be flexible and demonstrate good judgment.
  • Travel is required.

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

  • Dental knowledge and/or experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience leading other leaders.
Salary Range Information:
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range:
$137000 - $185000 / year
Time Off Program:
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees dont accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangements in our Des Moines, IA office. Youll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
