POSITION SUMMARY:The Temporary Account Clerk II performs duties that involve answering a high volume of technically oriented phone calls. Utilizes a good knowledge of departmental operations, procedures, and policies to supply information to a variety of callers. May perform other general clerical or typing duties.?
Brief Description
This is a Temporary, On-Call, Hourly position and not a part of any bargaining unit.
Temporary employees are not eligible for leave, pay for holidays not worked, or other fringe benefits. The appointment also doesn't entitle the employee to any special considerations for employment in a permanent position and service credit isn't earned.
Hourly Rate: $16.52 (8 hours per day)
CLOSING DATE: April 23, 2024
Detailed Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Typing, receiving telephone calls and answering inquiries;
  • Updates data in Oracle;
  • Answers frequent walk-in, email and telephone request from employees regarding simple payroll questions;
  • Personally performs various clerical duties and responsibilities in support of the organization's program(s) and operations and;
  • Performs other general office and related duties as assigned.
    Job Requirements
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Good knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic;
  • Good knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment;
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to carry out continuing assignments with limited supervision;
  • Ability to assemble and organize data;
  • Ability to keep complex clerical records and to prepare accurate reports from such records;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public;
  • Ability to operate a computer with proficiency;
  • Ability to type at the required rate of speed; and
  • Ability to perform routine and diversified clerical work involving independent judgment; and good interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
    High School Diploma or GED required, with some experience performing general clerical work or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform effectively in the position.
    CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
    None required.
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    No direct supervisory responsibilities.
