About the Position: The Prince George’s County Board of Elections is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the temporary drop box technician personnel position in the Board of Elections. This job is in preparation for the Presidential Elections. The available hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The applicant must have excellent computer skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, must be able to work in a fast-paced environment which is stressful. You must be a team player. The applicant must also be willing to assist with the training. Person(s) must be able to pay attention to detail. Must be able to read and understand written directions. Must be highly motivated to do an excellent job. Must have good interpersonal skills and able to get along well with co-workers. You must have access to a car and have a Maryland Driver’s License. You will be expected to travel to different polling places during the election cycle in order to meet election-related deadlines; mandatory overtime is imposed that will include weekends, holidays, and evening hours in some cases.
What You'll Do: • The drop box technician position will be responsible for picking up ballots and transfer mail and ballots from the various ballot dropbox locations across the county.
You will be reimbursed for mileage and support polling places on Early Voting and Election Day.
Perform tasks and duties as assigned within responsibility level of this class of work.
What You'll Need:
- Must have experience at the Data Entry Operator II level equal to the length of the probationary period; or, high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate with training in basic computer systems.
- Two (2) years of experience in data entry/processing.
Any equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience which provides the necessary skills required of the position will also be accepted.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Upon selection, the candidate must:
- Incumbent must be a registered voter in the state of Maryland.
- Submit to and pass a criminal background check.
- Current valid driver's license.
DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY: Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligible candidates, which will become effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.
ELIGIBILITY TO WORK: Under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, an employer is required to hire only U.S. citizens and lawfully authorized alien workers. Applicants who are selected for employment will be required to show and verify authorization to work in the United States.
