Hamilton Health Box (HHB) is a rapidly growing private equity backed healthcare startup operating hybrid telemedicine-enabled primary care clinics for small and medium businesses across the country. Position Summary
The Vice President of Clinical Operations (VP, Clinical Ops) reports to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO). The VP, Clinical Ops is a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practioner (NP) who provides leadership in all areas relating to the clinical operations and clinical support functions of Hamilton Health Box. The VP, Clinical Ops assists in the ongoing operational success of the company's healthcare clinics, leads collaborative efforts with healthcare partners on operational issues, and provides oversight and guidance to departmental operations. The VP, Clinical Ops works regularly with the senior leadership, operational counterparts, clinical staff, strategic partners, and customers to build relationships, monitor performance, improve processes, solve problems, foster a culture of warmth and inclusivity among the staff, and capitalize on opportunities to strengthen the company. This position plays a critical role in onboarding clinics with new strategic partners and/or new geographies. The VP, Clinical Ops actively participates in patient care in order to be familiar with current workflows so that they can actively assist with process improvement. The VP, Clinical Ops serves as a representative for the organization as it pertains to fostering partnerships throughout the communities that HHB serves and collaborates with our partners to ensure the highest levels of care quality and patient experience while working to drive down healthcare spending. They will have a responsibility to advocate for employees to have the opportunity for profession growth in order to improve job satisfaction.
Operational Duties & Responsibilities
Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with employees, providers, clinical staff, and clinical support and administrative staff, customers, and multiple healthcare partner organizations.
Works with HHB leadership to create systems and problem-solve ongoing issues that affect departmental/organizational goals and/or patient care delivery and establish relationships, monitor performance, and improve processes to ensure efficient and reliable operational performance.
Develops/implements policies/procedures that guides/supports care delivery, recommends sufficient number of qualified/competent staff to support the provision of care delivery operations.
Works with clinical leadership to enhance existing services, develop new services, and manage expenses.
Participates in the implementation and ongoing support of new partners, serves as the subject matter expert in the clinical and operational duties required to maintain partner clinics.
Assists with the ongoing evaluation and training of clinical staff.
Participates in evaluation, selection and implementation of vendors/technology solutions that assist in improving clinical operations.
Maintains/implements quality control programs; provides for the orientation, in-service training and continuing education of staff; recommends resources needed in the provision of services; identifies and selects outside sources for needed services.
Provides leadership and guidance for operational areas as needed.
Responsible for managing relationships with established clinical vendors, including but not limited to, monitoring and updating contracts, approving invoicing and participating in monthly business meetings.
Clinical Duties and Responsibilities
Promotes and maintains patient health by providing medical services under the supervision of a physician.
Contributes to a physician's efficiency by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues.
Recommends options and courses of action for patient care.
Implements physician directives.
Assesses patient health by interviewing patients and performing physical examination including obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as X-rays and laboratory studies and interpreting test results.
Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations, suturing, and managing wounds and infections.
Instructs and counsels patients by providing normal growth and development information and providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living.
Provides a community of care by developing and implementing patient-management plans.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols. Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; and enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
Collaborates in the development and evaluation of patient care. Updates clinical guidelines/protocols/pathways; works autonomously and accepts accountability for outcomes; signs orders in accordance with institution and state board requirements; collaborates in research and teaching projects and applies research to practice.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Utilizes telemedicine interface to complete virtual visits.
Ability to float, round to multiple facilities and/or take call (first call).

Requirements
Education & Experience
Nurse Practitioner - Education, Licenses/Certifications
Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program approved by the State of Texas; Masters of Nursing required.
Licensed to practice professional nursing as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by the State of Texas or Oklahoma.
Licensure by the State of Oklahoma APRN and eligibility for full prescriptive authority by the State of Texas or Oklahoma.
Certified by a recognized national certification by the State Board of Texas or Oklahoma in area of population foci and/or additional specialty recognition beyond the APRN.
Eligibility for DEA licensure.
Basic Cardiac Life Certification.
Physician Assistant - Education, Licenses/Certifications
Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program; Masters of Physician Assistant Studies.
Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Inc.
Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners or other identified state(s).
Other Education, Licenses/Certifications
Eligibility for DEA licensure.
Basic Cardiac Life Certification.
Experience in healthcare operations, project management, process improvement, or similar in healthcare or healthcare-adjacent experience.
Experience in a startup or rapid growth environment desired.
MBA is preferred but not required.
Required Skills & Abilities
Six (6) years of progressive leadership experience in the healthcare industry with a background in operations in primary care, urgent care, ambulatory, or virtual medicine settings.
Demonstrated excellence as a leader of operations supporting care delivery and the establishment and maintenance of programs designed to improve population health, patient outcomes, and cost-effective care.
Flexibility to integrate and familiarize into multiple healthsystems/EHRs simultaneously.
Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, including strong formal presentation skills.
Proven ability to foster cultures of collaboration and inclusivity and cultivate the professional growth for clinical staff of all levels.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage both short- and long-term projects.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
Ability to navigate and manage multiple parallel work streams and projects.
Entrepreneurial spirit with ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment and a passion for improving the health of underserved communities.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Patient facing time will average about 50% of the time.
