Primoris Services Corporation is Hiring a Director of Project Controls Near Aurora, CO

Description

The Director of Project Controls will bring leadership, direction and oversight to the financial health, scheduling, and planning of Primoris Renewable Energy. They will demonstrate a competency around developing leaders, construction finances, fundamental project management, planning, budgeting, procurement, sub-contractors/suppliers, risk management, and change management. This individual must demonstrate the capability of building relationships and serving customers through excellent collaboration and communication.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Vision, Strategy, and Initiatives: The director is responsible for collaborating with Executive Leadership to establish the overall vision, strategy, and annual initiatives of the Project Controls Department. Once the vision, strategy and annual initiatives are established, the director is responsible for providing the budget, resources, process, and tools to execute this vision.

Promote and Drive Culture: The Director helps promote and drive a positive company culture that is aligned with our core values and tenets of success that will make Primoris Renewable Energy the most desirable company to work for in the industry. This includes leading with professionalism and respect, as well as presenting interesting topics and challenges that face the industry today in a company promoted leadership learning environment.

Fiscal Responsibility: The Director will establish and lead our project controls program to produce a predictable fiscal outcome for the company. This will be accomplished by employing fundamental budgeting, planning, monitoring, and forecasting processes that ensure the leadership and company understand the health and performance of each project. Our project controls program will ensure the health of our company by establishing positive cash flow and collecting our receivables on time. The director is responsible for reporting the overall health of the company to the CEO, COO, CFO’s, Segment President, internal and external auditors, directors, and project management. This reporting includes WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, KPR’s (Key Project Reports), Forecasting, Cash Flow Statements, Sox Compliance.

Key Performance Metrics: The director is responsible for establishing and monitoring the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of the company finances to the Segment President, directors, and project management.

People

Leadership: The Director will develop professional and respectful leaders and managers who will deploy our project controls system that establishes a leadership position in the market and facilitates “Excellence” in everything we do.

Resources: The Director will hire and facilitate the development of individuals who possess the required leadership and competency to produce a high-performing outcome for the company. All teams will be established and staffed in a manner that will produce a desired result. Our teams will encourage and produce a positive and engaging work environment where all members can achieve their professional goals. The company will endorse and ensure all team members understand how each contribute to the success of each other, the project and company.

Talent Development: The Director will intentionally lead and develop others to lead the development of our people. They will ensure this development through a regular and consistent coaching and feedback system that will provide regular and direct feedback on performance and goal progress.

Operational Excellence

Alignment with other Department Directors: The Director will establish a cohesive, connected, and collaborative relationship and alignment with Inter-Departments. They will serve all departments in a manner that promotes a trusting relationship where we anticipate their needs and follow through with our commitments on time and budget. We will look for and promote transparency around improving the bottom line.

Process Improvements: The Director will execute our business strategy in a consistent, predictable, and reliable manner. Director will establish a program that will produce lower operational risk, lower operating costs, and increased revenues, thus creating value for our customers and shareholders. The Director will lead in a manner that promotes continuous improvement, Lean Thinking, Six Sigma and learning from our lessons.

Tools: The Director is responsible for the system that achieves results in accordance to our business strategy and plan.

Remove Roadblocks: The Directors is responsible for identifying and remediating any Roadblocks that prevent the team from efficiently completing their work on time.

Minimum Qualifications:

15 years of Accounting/Finance/Project Controls/Construction experience and a proven construction background.

5 years of solar construction project experience required.

Willing to relocate to corporate office in Denver, CO

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (equivalent is 8 years of construction experience) in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field from an accredited university.

Demonstrated experience in Finance/Accounting/Project Controls Management and leadership of people.

Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication.

Must have a valid current driver license.

Must have a valid current passport for travel (including air travel) outside the U.S.

Extensive travel required.

Salary $170k - $190 annually with bonus potential, dependent on experience, qualifications, and competencies.
