Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Director to oversee our food service operations. As the Food Service Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our kitchen and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food and exceptional service to our customers. With an opening date of early fall, we are excited to start recruiting now.
Duties:
- Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our customers
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and other food service personnel
- Monitor food quality and ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
- Collaborate with activity and marketing teams to plan and execute special events or functions
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner
Skills:
- Extensive experience in the food industry, preferably in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen management
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Food Service Director or related position
- Proven track record of successfully managing food service operations
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the food industry
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required
