Job Summary
The Mechanical Drafter works closely with the Project management team, sales and executive leadership to bring customer ideas and dreams to reality. Expert-level knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAd will allow the Mechanical Drafter to create assemblies and drawings of various complex and challenging projects. In this role, successful candidates will be able to take drawings created in SolidWorks and import them to the Sigma Nest or Tube to create machine set-up instructions.
Job Responsibilities
· Prepares detailed drawings for design layouts, work from blueprints, verbal instructions and rough sketches
· Create parts, assemblies & drawings of various weldments using Solidworks and AutoCAD
· Field measure and designs various parts
· Material takeoffs from drawing for estimating
· Review drawing for production before manufacturing
· Good understanding of the different metals
· Assist with maintenance/troubleshooting errors on a variety of production machines as it relates to file integration and set-up.
· Work with Team members, customers, and vendors with questions
· Communicate with project manager, shop foreman, purchasing, and other departments
Skills and Experience
· Greater than two years of Drawing experience using SolidWorks and AutoCad
· Experience in the manufacturing industry; metal products are a plus
· Experience programming and setting up Multi-axis machines is highly desired
· Strong and open communication style both written and verbal
· Ability to work with complex projects and specific timelines
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Highly detail oriented
· Knowledge and experience with Sigma Tech Suite is highly desired but not required.
· Strong MS Office and MS Project experience
· Must embrace candor and transparency
Pay Rate: Up to $83,000 Depending on Skills and Experience
