Applications are being accepted for an Engineering Associate/Engineering Designer position at the City of Pendleton in the Community Development Department. Position requires thorough knowledge of principles and practices of civil engineering including modern methods of design and basic land surveying for the design, layout, construction, and maintenance of public works infrastructure. Must be skilled in making engineering computations, estimates, and designs and have experience using AutoCAD 2020 or newer, MS Word, MS Excel, and other computer applications such as email and internet. Experience is also desirable with AutoDesk Civil 3D 2020 or newer. Familiarity with ArcView, ArcGIS, or other engineering design or modeling software is not required but would be desirable. Requires Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related science field and the possession of an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration, or satisfactory equivalent combination as determined by the City of education and experience and the ability to obtain the EIT certification within 6-months. Applicant must have one year of experience in engineering, surveying, and/or design, preferably with municipal-type projects. Experience preparing and/or interpreting technical engineering construction details, specifications, standards, and contracts is also desirable. Experience with basic land surveying procedures and techniques to prepare topographic mapping, boundary determination, and construction staking for engineering projects is also highly desired. Applicant must possess valid driver's license and be able to pass a criminal background check. Salary range is $6,156 - $7,565 per month plus excellent benefits.
