Job Title: General Mechanic

Schedule: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM | Sunday-Thursday

Pay: 38-40/hour
Job Description: PrideNow is currently seeking a skilled General Mechanic to join a well-respected leader in the flavor and fragrance industry at their Danbury, CT location. The General Mechanic will be responsible for performing general maintenance of pipe cutting and preassembly, as well as installation and maintenance of plumbing systems and components under general supervision. The role also involves monitoring production management systems, troubleshooting system malfunctions, and may include building, testing, repairing, designing, and modifying production equipment related to plumbing.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, and maintain various plumbing systems including chilled water, steam, heat, water, gas, drainage, sewage, etc.
• Operate plumbing equipment and hand tools such as reamers, threading discs, pipe cutters, and snakes.
• Assist with the installation, repair, or replacement of hot and cold-water lines, valves, traps, backflow prevention devices, and pipes.
• Maintain knowledge of state-of-the-art technology and equipment relevant to plumbing systems.
• Ensure proper care, safety, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Comply with company environmental, safety policies, and procedures including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on building system components.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification/license in plumbing preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of directly related experience in plumbing maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of mechanical operation of equipment such as pumps, boilers, heaters, etc.
• Skill in plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and manuals.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools applicable to the trade.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems maintenance and repair is a plus.
