Position Overview: 

Provide direct leadership and management of the company’s manufacturing shift operations including the areas of safety, production, and material handling; with a focus on meeting customer product requirements, quality expectations and customer service.

Responsibilities: 

• Implement and revise operating procedures consistent with ASI and GMP.
• Coordinate set up and monitor production runs; maintain efficient operation of all lines.
• Respond to machine problems/failures and quality issues.
• Participate in plant production and maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Coordinate and conduct shift meetings.
• Oversee and enforce safety and housekeeping practices.
• Participate in special projects to contribute special competencies and practices.
• Prepare reports and documentation regarding plant production.
• Accomplishes manufacturing staffing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinates with HR in interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
• Responsible for accurate documentation of employee records/data related to training, timekeeping, etc. within HRIS system and employee rosters.
• Provides expertise in set up and processing of extrusion blow molding machines, troubleshooting of molding problems, programming robots, set up of end of arm tooling, chutes and conveyor systems.
• Maintains department processes by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
• Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting or communicating production results to next shift supervisor and/or production manager.
• Maintains quality enforcing organization standards.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Assisting quality control and shipping and receiving
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education, Experience, & Qualifications:

• Requires a high school education or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• Requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the packaging/plastics industry OR a minimum of 7 years of experience as a Blow Molder Operator with demonstrated leadership abilities.
