What does the LaundryAide do?

In short, you will work closely with our residents andother housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure our residents’ items areclean and kept.

In this job, everyday you will…

1. Collect and sort soiled clothing and linen forwashing.

2. Launder the soiled clothing and linens on atimely and daily basis to meet the needs of the care center and it’s residents,folding and preparing clean clothing and linen for distribution to residentrooms and facility linen storage areas.

3. Maintain linen and resident clothing in useablecondition by mending torn linens or garments.

4. Keep work area organized and clean, according toestablished procedures, and maintaining washer and dryer equipment inaccordance to proper maintenance recommendations.

5. Utilize cleaners, detergents, and otherhazardous materials according to department procedure.

6. Ensures that equipment is properly maintainedand properly stored and that storage areas are kept clean and safe. Advisessupervisor of supply needs and equipment needs as necessary.

7. Coordinates daily laundry service with otherdepartments.

Education & Experienceyou need to qualify:

• Must be able to perform essential job dutieswith or without reasonable accommodation.
• Experience working with seniors helpful.
• Ability to understand verbal directions and readwritten instructions.
• Able to communicate with residents on a dailybasis.
• Ability to solve practical problems andinterpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, orschedule form.
