Prestige Beverage Group of DC LLC is Hiring a Wine and Spirit Specialist - DC Near Washington, DC

Prestige-Ledroit Distributing Co. is currently hiring for a Wine and Spirit Specialist in the Washington DC market.

As a Wine and Spirit Specialist, your primary function is to cultivate relationships in a predetermined territory and leverage those relationships to grow revenue and achieve business objectives. This typically involves:

  • Conducting daily in person sales calls with existing customers
  • Assessing the needs of your customers and finding solutions within our portfolio
  • Preparing and executing sales presentations
  • Maintaining records of presentations and following up accordingly
  • Supporting and executing on company priorities and sales objectives
  • Utilizing reports and data to ensure satisfactory performance within the territory
  • Communicating with sales management to overcome obstacles

You are also responsible for:

  • Conducting in-store tastings, staff trainings and wine dinners. This may include events taking place in the evenings and on weekends
  • Complying with all laws and regulations governing the sale of alcoholic beverages
  • Maintaining a business professional personal vehicle
  • Meeting the requirements to hold and maintain a Solicitor’s Permit
  • Working in an environment that prizes individual performance while fostering strong teamwork and shared objectives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field AND/OR two years sales experience
  • Previous experience in the wine/spirits/hospitality industry
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and curiosity about the wine and spirits industry
  • The desire and ability to grow revenue in a territory comprised of on and off premise accounts
  • While geographic proximity to the territory is not required, it is strongly preferred
  • Ability to use technology (order entry, MS Excel, email, ppt)
  • Familiarity with the assigned market and key accounts preferred but not required

Working Environment

Wine and Spirit Specialists work primarily in the field. They are expected to be working within their territory for the duration of the workday. They must have access to a reliable, business professional vehicle during the work week. Additionally the following are requirements of the job:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, stoop and kneel
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 30lbs and occasionally lift up to 55lbs
