 Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina (PCSC) is a not-for-profit faith based organization that owns and operates six life plan communities across the state and has been in business for over 60 years. Laurel Crest Retirement Community is looking for a Cook to prepare delicious meals according to the menu. This person will cook dishes that will delight our residents with taste and timely delivery. $1000 Sign On Bonus in four increments for the right candidate. Shifts will vary and will include every other weekend. 

Responsibilities & Skills

• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen. Monitor sanitation procedures for daily, weekly and monthly schedules
• Monitor all hot and cold temperature logs daily
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

• 1- 3 years of cooking experience in hospitality setting, healthcare or related environment
• Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipe specifications and standards. 
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations.

Preferred:

• 3 years of experience as a cook in a hotel, fine dining restaurant or club setting.
• Serv Safe certification a plus.
