SUMMARY: The Estimator’s responsibility includes reviewing and tracking customer requests for estimates, creating project estimates, following up on submitted estimates, creating/reviewing and delivering job start packages to the Preconstruction team, and reviewing completed jobs and margins to identify estimate improvements. The Estimator ensures Premise Inc. crews have the scope of work and job budget information to complete projects on time, on budget, and to our customers satisfaction.
Note: The compensation for this position is based on previous experience in the construction solar and telecommunication sector. The salary can increase with the years of experience. If you have more than 5 years of experience in estimating salary can be negotiated.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Review RFP’s and SOW’s to understand and prepare the estimate per the customers formatting
- Source and obtain quotes from vendors and subcontractors for materials and services
- Creates accurate and detailed scopes of work and estimates, including the labor/materials/subcontractor costs and all other costs to complete the Premise SOW
- Utilize cost estimation software and tools to generate estimates and maintain records of all project related information.
- Responds and manages estimating workload ensuring on time responses and submittals
- Reviews and Assesses submitted estimates, solicits feedback, and utilizes Customer pricing feedback to refine pricing models to ensure competitive pricing
- Identifies and suggests potential risk and opportunities within projects that may impact cost
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- In addition to the above, other required qualifications for this role are:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or 5 years of previous estimating experience
- 2 years of experience in commercial construction estimating or related field, solar or telecommunication preferred
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as ProEst
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Understanding of construction materials, methods, and terminology
- Familiarity with commercial building and electrical codes
- Ability to travel up to 5%

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, walk, lift, talk, hear, see, reach, grasp and use hands and fingers to operate a computer key board, telephone, and other office equipment. The employee must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The employee performs the essential functions of this job in a normal indoor office environment.
