Ahva Care of Stickney is a nursing home located in Stickney, Illinois that began providing nursing home services Apr 5th, 2005. We are currently hiring for an amazing and self-motivated Director of Nursing (DON) that has a passion for senior care and servicing our residents!

Director of Nursing (DON) Responsibilities include but are not limit to:

·Plan, develop organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the nursing care facilities.

·Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.

·Assist the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies.

·Assist the Discharge Planning Coordinator in developing, implementing, and periodically updating the written procedures for the Discharge Planning Program.

·Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, sharing, etc., as necessary.

·Conduct and coordinate the development and completion of the resident’s assessment (MDS) in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the resident assessment, including the implementation of RAPs and Triggers.

·Monitor the facility's QI and QM reports to ensure that appropriate corrective action can be implemented when potential problems areas occur.

·Evaluate each resident's condition and pertinent medical data to determine any need for special assessment activities or a need to amend the admission assessment.

·Ensure that a complete resident assessment is conducted within fourteen days of a significant change in the resident's condition.

Requirements

·3 years of nurse management and 1 year of previous Director of Nursing (DON) experience preferred

·Able to communicate well in both verbal and written forms

·A natural problem solver

·Customer service orientated

·Are committed to interacting professionally and with care toward residents, families, and other staff
