Premier Gastroenterology Associates is Hiring an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) - Gastroenterology Near Little Rock, AR

Description

Position Overview: The APRN at Premier Gastroenterology will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and collaborating with our team of physicians and healthcare providers. The APRN will focus on providing specialized care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions, helping with diagnosis, treatment, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities:

1.) Patient Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Perform comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations and medical histories, to identify gastrointestinal issues and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and imaging studies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnosis.

2.) Treatment and Management:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with gastrointestinal disorders, including medication management, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, and monitor patient response and adherence.
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.

3.) Patient Education:

  • Educate patients and their families about their gastrointestinal conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
  • Promote and support healthy lifestyle changes to manage gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Ensure that patients are well-informed and actively involved in their healthcare decisions.

4.) Documentation and Records:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records, including patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care.

5.) Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers, providing clear and empathetic communication.
  • Attend team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in gastroenterology.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • Valid and current APRN licensure in Arkansas.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Specialization in Gastroenterology is a plus, however not a requirement.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems including gMed and Dragon dictation.
  • Commitment to providing patient-centered care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
