- Coordinates with clinic staff to ensure a positive patient flow, waiting room, and exam room experience.
- Patient Care: Assist providers in patient examinations and treatments, including measuring vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and documenting patient information accurately.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to facilitate seamless coordination of care and ensure patient satisfaction.
- Administrative Support: Answer phone calls, and handle patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy. Maintain electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently.
- Medical Procedures: Perform basic medical procedures such as administering injections, EKGs, and specimen collection. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Security: Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Continuing Education: Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
- Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
- Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Support Services: Assist with office tasks as needed to support efficient clinic operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred; CNA, EMT, aspiring medical or nursing students may also qualify.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in basic medical procedures and use of medical equipment.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in healthcare.
