Preferred Senior Care is Hiring a Patient Care Coordinator Near Waterford, MI
Preferred Senior Care is currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Care Coordinator to join our team at the Waterford location. As a Care Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the proper execution of care plans by our dedicated team of caregivers.
You will also be responsible for effective communication with patients and their families, covering shifts in case of emergencies, administering medications, and promoting our services as an internal marketing representative. If you possess excellent customer service skills, have a deep love for caregiving, and understand the importance of providing quality care to seniors in their later stages of life, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the proper execution of care plans by coordinating and supervising caregivers
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing their needs and providing regular updates
- Step in and cover shifts when there are no call, no show instances or difficulty in securing coverage
- Administer medications in accordance with established protocols
- Act as an internal marketing representative, promoting our services and fostering strong relationships with potential clients
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and genuine compassion for the well-being of our patients
- Understand and prioritize the importance of providing exceptional care to seniors in their later stages of life
Requirements:
- Minimum of five years of experience in patient care coordination and supervision
- Previous experience as a caregiver is essential
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a team
- Possession of a valid Michigan driving license
- Must be COVID vaccinated
- Ability to pass a drug test
- Clean background record with the State of Michigan
- Reliable transportation for patient assessments, if required
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly rate: $18-$19 per hour, commensurate with experience
- Mileage reimbursement for travel
- Performance review after 90 days with potential for a pay increase

Responsibilities
- Assist with day to day operations of the company to provide care to clients
- Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources
- Compile and update employee records
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities
- Coordinate meetings, training, surveys, etc
- Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences,etc)
- Communicate with public services when necessary
- Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures
- Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews
- Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees
- Assist our caregivers if there is an emergency.
- Moreover be the best caregiver in the company if needed in the floor.
Skills
- Proven experience as an caregiver /administrative position
- Fast computer typing skills (MS Office, in particular)
- Hands-on experience with patients.
- Familiarity with different mental health and emotional stages in ageing.
- Basic knowledge of labor laws
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong communications skills

- Basic knowledge of caregiving
