Position Summary:
As a Refrigeration Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our refrigeration and HVAC systems. You will be responsible for logging time and materials into our computerized maintenance management system, as well as communicating essential information regarding system operation and maintenance to departmental management and maintenance teams on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

• Perform housekeeping and cleanup of refrigeration machine rooms, maintenance areas, and project areas daily.
• Interpret and understand plans, specifications, schematics, and manuals for systems being overseen.
• Assist in developing standard operating procedures, work schedules, and duty cycles for repairs and maintenance.
• Manage outside mechanical and refrigeration contractors conducting service, repair, and new contract work.
• Assist building and material handling equipment maintenance teams in general repairs and maintenance activities.
• Tolerate temperatures of 35 degrees or below for the entire shift and lift 40-60 pounds to shoulder height repeatedly.
• Follow verbal and written instructions, demonstrate basic mechanical knowledge, and work well without direct supervision.
• Obtain OSHA Level A Hazmat Certification and Incident Command Training within 90 days of employment.
• Obtain RETA (CIRO) Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator Certification within 1 year of hire.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Refrigeration/Ammonia/HVAC.
• Education: Refrigeration/Electrical Trade School Certification or Equivalent, RETA - Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) Certification, or Associate 2-year Degree in HVAC, Ammonia Refrigeration & CFC Certification. Or any combination of experience, education, and training.

Non-negotiable Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years experience in Refrigeration/Ammonia/HVAC.

Nice-to-have Skills:

• Relevant educational certifications or degrees in refrigeration, electrical, or HVAC fields.

Salary: $31.00 - $45.00 per hour
