Precision Torque Control, Inc. is Hiring a Product Designer Near Midland, MI

We are looking for a fulltime Product Designer to assist in the design and development of Capping equipment, Clutches, Brakes, and more. Our products include but are not limited to: Capping Clutches, Capping Chucks, Capping Headsets, Permanent Magnet Brakes, Magnetic Particle Brakes, and Bottle Retention Knives. In this role you will be reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. You will be directly interfacing with other engineering personnel, assembly teams, machine shop staff, production and management. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Design and Creation of 3D CAD models.
  • Creation of 2D drawings and internal order documentation for downstream processes.
  • Work closely with shop staff to optimize the design of parts for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Troubleshoot and revise existing parts for continued improvements.
  • Take precise measurements and perform calculations of critical dimensions on parts received from customers.
  • Provide technical support to customers for both our products and general inquiries.

Required Education:

  • Associate’s/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design or Related Field.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in Solidworks or similar CAD software.
  • Proficient in MS-Office applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to use MRP & Accounting Software for data entry.
  • Ability to use Measurement Instrumentation e.g. Calipers, Guages, Force Scale, Torque Scale.
  • Knowledge of materials especially Stainless Steels and Engineered Plastics.
