Medical Assistant

We are a private practice Pulmonology office, and we are hiring an experienced Medical Assistant for our office practice. We are looking to hire a Medical Assistant to perform Pulmonary Function testing, room patients and take vital signs, take medical history and update the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Pulmonary Function testing (experience is preferred, but we can teach this skill)
• Greet and prepare patients for office visits or procedures
• Take patient medical history updates and take vital signs
• Assist physicians with examinations and treatments
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records and new patient referrals, and handling insurance forms and prior authorizations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a medical assistant training program or equivalent experience
• Certification as a medical assistant
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures, with a preference for experience in Pulmonary Medicine
• Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic health record systems and Excel. Our office is entirely electronic; experience with eClinical Works is preferred
• Enthusiastic approach to caring for patients, communication with compassion and eagerness to learn new skills
• Ability to multitask and be flexible
