The Columbus Engine Center has an exciting opportunity to become part of the Operations team as an Operations Manager to be based in Columbus, GA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • This Columbus Engine Center staff leadership position will play a key role in setting Columbus Engine Center strategy to ensure timely cost-efficient delivery of quality first, dependable engines which ensure sustained customer satisfaction. Responsible for development and leadership of a world class operation supporting current business needs and growth.
  • Accountable for overall safety of the workforce, through strategic direction and cultural deployment of leading indicators.
  • Lead operational support areas such as Customer Service, CORE and Materials; develop appropriate success indicators to effectively manage cutting edge areas as well as gaps.
  • Enhance CORE and SPS along with the operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, and enhanced management reporting to achieve world class safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Possess big picture vision while maintaining an intimate knowledge of every department and job role involved in their operational processes.
  • Design and execute supply chain strategies that maximize productivity, minimize risk and effectively respond to fluctuations in demand.
  • Collaborate and partner with other sites to provide updates, best practices, etc.
  • Lead an operational team and empower them to build and lead their respective functions. This role will also make strategic decisions around the direction of each of these functions. Ongoing people development; continue to build, lead, and retain top talent. Develop strong bench.
  • Effective and polished communication style to all levels within the organization including proven success in delivery of hard facts and providing thoughtful and constructive feedback while listening to employee input.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree and 14 years of experience in aerospace industry in operations, production or similar field or an Advanced Degree and 12 years of experience in aerospace industry in operations, production or similar field.
  • Understanding of Engineering, Customer Service and Quality disciplines within a manufacturing environment.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Leadership development expertise
  • Experience communicating across all levels of an organization and leadership in order to effectively present complex data.
What is my role type?In addition to transforming the future of flight, we are also transforming how and where we work. We’ve introduced role types to help you understand how you will operate in our blended work environment. This role is:
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
Requires advanced business knowledge, general management and leadership capability to lead business or functional teams.
Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 14 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
