Job Description
SUMMARY
This position will supervise 5-6 subordinates. Oversee day to day operations of material handlers / clamp truck drivers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee shipping and receiving operations.
- Complete clamp truck inspection reports and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain a healthy working relationship between departments.
- Communicate with shift Foreman to ensure an efficient operation when necessary.
- Recommend process improvement opportunities when available.
- Keep the warehouse organized and clean.
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Adhere to daily production schedule. Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery and service goals.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Additional duties as needed.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior forklift / heavy equipment experience is preferred.
- Ability to lead, supervise, and assign work as needed.
Physical Demands
Work is light difficulty, fast paced, physically demanding, and will be outside. Must be able to operate a steering wheel, hydraulic levers, foot pedals, and a handheld scanner.
They must be able to observe their immediate area for safe operation of mobile industrial equipment in crowded areas. Occasionally, they may be asked to maneuver items by hand and be able to lift up to 50lbs.
