Local manufacturer located in Conyers, Georgia is recruiting hands on Staff Accountant who will be responsible for all cost center accounting operations. This position would be responsible for but not limited to:

• Daily P&L Reporting and monitoring various Production reports

• Maintain accurate financial information and assist with Month-end close

• Review accounts payable invoices in SAP

• Maintain reporting logs and spreadsheets for inventory, chemicals, and other costs

• Provide weekly forecasts, P&L vs. Budget analysis and explanations of variances

• Post SAP JE's and other accounting BS functions under instruction of Assistant Controller and/or Controller

• Manage capital reporting on key plant projects

• Provide assistance with annual statutory external audit

• Assist with A/R Fee for Service

The Staff Accountant must be able to recognize and respond to situations that require a sense of urgency or are the result of non-compliance with corporate policy(s). This person should have the ability to assess various situations and environments objectively. The Staff Accountant must always understand the importance of acting ethically and appropriately in many business situations.

Work Environment

The work space is a small office setting within a major manufacturing environment. The position also requires periodic access to operations and warehouse space requiring personal protective equipment (PPE). Candidate will have occasional long work days, weekends and holiday coverage as financial schedule dictates.

Physical Demands

Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand as well as sit for a given length of time, lift office supplies or other items up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Language Skills

The positions must be able to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Also have the ability to write routine reports, emails, and correspondence. Communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.
