Job Description:
Registers and admits patients by obtaining relevant patient demographic and insurance information, adjusting patient status as appropriate, ensuring legally required forms are completed, and alerting ER Triage nurse for ER visits. Coordinates insurance pre-certification and verification processes. Operates switchboard and directs patient, visitor, and staff phone calls and questions to appropriate personnel. Updates hospital on-call schedule daily. Verifies and generates daily patient room charges. Coordinates all alarm monitors and code calls which include summoning appropriate response teams. Completes county letters and liens for applicable patient accounts.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Six months prior hospital/medical or general office experience required. Previous patient registration and computer experience desirable.
