PowerSource Telecom, Inc., a small but growing 30 employee firm, and a leader in providing comprehensive communication solutions, is seeking a knowledgeable Accountant to join our team in Albany, OR. In this pivotal role, you will engage in a wide range of accounting activities, document the company’s financial transactions, prepare financial statements, and manage payroll. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has a strong understanding of best practices in accounting. This position is in our Albany office. It is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Enter financial data and transactions
- Analyze budgets and other financial information
- Reconcile bank statements
- Prepare financial reports and statements
- Verify the accuracy of transactions that have been entered
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Create accounting policies to comply with all rules and regulations
- Process payroll
- Oversee job costing and provide essential financial insights to project management Manage light tax duties and ensure compliance with applicable lawsQualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the construction or telecommunications industry
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems
- Strong analytical skills and adept at preparing detailed financial analyses and reports
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
- Must have good business acumen
