Job Title: Experienced Utility Heavy Equipment Operator
Reports to: Project Manager
Compensation: $32-$37/hr

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Power & Construction Group is expanding its Underground Utilities team and seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Operate equipment around live utilities.
  2. Perform manual labor, including digging with a hand shovel or bar to expose live utilities, heavy lifting, and climbing in and out of trenches.
  3. Conduct routine inspection and maintenance on equipment and tools.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. At least 10 years of experience operating around live utilities.
  2. Demonstrate skills in the safe operation and daily preventative maintenance of backhoes, excavators, loaders, and skid steers.
  3. Hands-on experience in digging safely around live utilities.
  4. Experience working safely in traffic zones.
  5. No lifting or physical restrictions.
  6. OSHA 10 Certification.
  7. Effective and respectful communication with the public and clients.
  8. Ability to work outdoors year-round in all types of weather.
  9. Demonstrate safe and proper use and maintenance of all company tools and equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
  • Stamina to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise tasks.
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Good vision, including close-up and peripheral vision, for detailed inspections.
  • Hearing ability to diagnose engine and equipment noises.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
