Part of the Solution (POTS) offers an array of comprehensive and personalized services to fight poverty and hunger in The Bronx, at no cost to clients. Annually, POTS serves more than 35,000 people, including 12,000 children. Our services are organized around three programmatic pillars: a Dignity and Wellness Program provides shower, mail, haircut and medical and dental services; a Food Security Program offers hot meals and groceries; and a Long-Term Stability Program provides guidance on applications for public benefits, legal services to help with preventing eviction and mentoring for long-term personal growth.
About the position
The Individual Giving Officer will help identify, cultivate, and steward a portfolio (100-150) high mid-level and major donors ($5,000 .) This role directly reports to the Director of Development; The IGO will work collaboratively to achieve revenue, retention, and acquisition goals from Part of the Solution’s diverse pool of donors, volunteers, and advocates and further their engagement, giving, and commitment to supporting the work of POTS. The IGO is responsible for co-creating and implementing an individual giving program and events to meet POTS revenue needs and must perform all his/her duties with the goal of ensuring POTS’s Core Values are upheld in the delivery of services.
Core Responsibilities
• Build and maintain relationships with individual donors through personalized communication, stewardship, and cultivation activities.
• Develop and execute strategies to engage donors at various giving levels and strengthen their connection to POTS's mission and programs.
• Partner with communications and program teams to plan and execute against POTS Comprehensive fundraising campaigns aimed at funding the continued expansion of POTS.
• Partner with staff to develop compelling fundraising appeals, solicitations, and other collateral materials to inspire giving and communicate impact.
• Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date donor records in Salesforce, POTS’s CRM database.
• Analyze donor data and fundraising metrics to assess performance, identify trends and share key learnings to inform strategic decision-making.
• Engage in regular research and professional development to hone skills and learn new trends and technologies for donor cultivation and engagement.
Required Skills
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strategic planning and analytical skills and a proven track record of fundraising success; and significant experience in donor cultivation and stewardship, major gift solicitation, and donor communications.
