Potomac Law Group is Hiring a Litigation Docketing Specialist Near Washington, DC

Potomac Law is seeking a part-time Litigation Docketing Specialist. The Litigation Docketing Specialist is responsible for monitoring assigned shared mailboxes and related docket requests and docketing same promptly according to firm guidelines and procedures utilizing the firm’s litigation docketing software. This position is fully-remote.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of litigation docketing experience in a law firm (required)
  • Strong knowledge of litigation process, court rules and procedures
  • Understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court for processing pleadings
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local court systems, as well as administrative and government agencies
  • Ability to research and apply statutory/agency and/or court rules and procedures
  • Ability to use Pacer.gov, PacerPro and other legal resources and websites to obtain case dockets, rules, and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and internet research
  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Preference is given to candidates who possess experience in docketing within the California jurisdiction

Responsibilities

Manage the docketing process, which includes the following functions:

  • Monitor office-specific inboxes for receipt of docketing requests and coordinate with those who send requests as needed.
  • Review litigation and business filings to determine deadlines.
  • Enter and update docket entries.
  • Produce various Docket Reports.
  • Troubleshoot docket concerns and issues.

Provide ongoing information and technical support to lawyers and business professionals throughout the firm concerning the specific policies and general mechanics relating to the docketing process.

Assist with other administrative projects or provide other general back-up support as necessary.
