Overview

Post Acute Partners is seeking an Analyst of Portfolio Management & Transactions. 

Post Acute Partners Management, LLC, a large and growing geriatric, and pediatric post-acute healthcare services company focused on the Northeast, is looking for an Analyst to join its New York City corporate office. This position is responsible for performing analysis pertaining to acquisitions, development, recapitalizations, refinancings and business development projects as required. The Analyst will work on projects to support the Vice President, and report directly to the Vice President of the group.

Base Salary with Bonus Potential. 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

Acquisitions & Development: Works on single-site acquisition opportunities and supports the Director in analysis and due diligence related to new acquisitions and developments, including:

  • Updates operating and capital projections and sensitivities (both preliminary to assess value and detailed upon further due diligence).
  • Models various financial structures and prepares IRR, NPV, cash on equity and return on cost projections.
  • Supports due diligence process with Seller and Key Stakeholders by cataloguing diligence data received from target and disseminating relevant diligence documents to key internal and external stakeholders. Analyzes financial-related due diligence.
  • Supports creation of financial schedules for regulatory approval process.
  • Updates financial models and improves upon existing models through Excel automation.
  • Updates detailed market research discipline as well as transactions and equity databases to monitor relevant transactions in the industry and potential capital sources.
  • Updates detailed maps and profiles for competitors and feeder hospitals for existing portfolios and prospective acquisition targets.
  • Other ad hoc analysis as needed.

Portfolio Management: Supports Director in analysis and reporting related to existing business including:

  • Assists in preparation of periodic internal valuations of all portfolios.
  • Assists preparing due diligence for and review of third-party external appraisals.
  • Assists Director with budget process for all business lines.
  • Running/Monitoring monthly automated processes for updating financial models.
  • Maintains analyses to compare and benchmark facilities across the portfolio.
  • Assists with analyses and deliverables that require regulatory approval.
  • Developing working knowledge of PointClickCare EMR.
  • Researching demand estimate methodologies for specific lines of business, which include skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care / dementia and pediatric outpatient and inpatient services.
  • Developing working knowledge of patient flow census information and analyzing admissions and discharge volumes as well as changes in payor status through the Elderwood system.
  • Analyzing patient level records to develop strategic initiatives for specialty programs, i.e. cardiac, stroke, neurological, behavioral, etc.
  • Analyzing census volume, patient diagnosis, and hospital DRG trends.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Eligible for employment in the U.S. – no sponsorship or work visa required.
  • Prior internship and/or 2-3 years’ experience in senior healthcare M&A and / or healthcare investment banking preferred.
  • Proficiency in building complex, fully integrated financial models and running scenario analyses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Proficiency in SQL Database Query Language.
  • Ability to create and update VBA and Excel Macros to fully automate processes for accounting, modeling, and financial reporting purposes.
  • 4 yr. Degree required
  • BS in Finance / Accounting and / or BA in Economics preferred; minor in Computer Science preferred.
  • Experience in data, statistical and/or financial analysis preferred.
