Positive Promotions is in search of a production artist to join our active creative department.

Positive Promotions is a Long Island based industry leader providing imprinted promotional products to schools, health care and corporate clients. We are the one stop shopping source for over 62 annual events, educational and recognition programs. Positive Promotions both manufactures and distributes world class promotional products and sells both retail and wholesale to other nationwide distributors.

Job Functions:

• Work closely with Marketing Managers, Creative Director and Designers handling the layout, retouching photos, and organizing project folders.
• Develop and prepare accurate press-ready mechanical files according to template specifications.
• Follow directive for pickup art, relinking images, add logo imprints.
• Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to understand campaign requirements.
• Adhere to project timelines and manage a high volume of projects.
• Maintain accurate, organized files according to department procedures.

Education Experience

• Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Graphic Arts a plus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a studio production artist or related area.

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat.
• Knowledge of Microsoft a plus.
• Basic understanding of Pre-Press, Printing and/or Catalog layouts.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Recognize productivity against flexible schedules and accelerated timelines.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and visual structure.
• Proficient interpersonal, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong organizational and file management skills with the ability to handle multiple, high-priority projects with a keen attention to detail.
• Team player with professional demeanor; ability to interface with internal parties at all levels.
• Hands on, energetic and motivated self-starter with the ability to work additional hours as required.
• Strong skills in layout and light design are a must.
