POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant to the General Superintendent plays a crucial role in supporting the General Superintendent in overseeing and coordinating various construction projects undertaken by the general contracting company. This position requires a combination of administrative skills, construction knowledge, and effective communication to ensure the smooth execution of projects. The Assistant to the General Superintendent reports directly to the General Superintendent and collaborates closely with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Coordination:• Assist the General Superintendent in planning, organizing, and executing construction projects according to established schedules and budgets.• Collaborate with project managers to ensure seamless communication and alignment between field operations and project goals.Site Management:• Visit project sites regularly to assess progress, identify potential issues, and ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.• Assist in managing subcontractors, suppliers, and other on-site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and timely project completion.Documentation:• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including plans, schedules, permits, change orders, and other relevant records.• Prepare reports, summaries, and progress updates for the General Superintendent and project stakeholders.Communication:• Facilitate effective communication between project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.• Address any concerns or issues raised by project personnel and ensure they are resolved promptly.Safety and Compliance:• Collaborate with the safety department to implement and enforce safety protocols and guidelines on project sites.• Participate in safety inspections and audits to ensure a safe working environment.Resource Management:• Assist in coordinating the allocation of resources, equipment, and manpower to ensure efficient project operations.• Monitor material deliveries to prevent delays and ensure that the necessary resources are available on-site.Problem Solving:• Identify potential challenges or obstacles that could impact project progress and collaborate with the General Superintendent to develop solutions.Continuous Improvement:• Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices to enhance project efficiency, quality, and profitability.
QUALIFICATIONS:• B.S. Degree in Civil ore related field or equivalent experience3 years of experience in Field Operations or Project Management. • Effective management of construction work, resulting in completion of contracts within time and cost limits. • Effective oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, decision-making ability, strong management and leadership skills,
