Position Summary
The Operations/Assistant General Manager position reports directly to the General Manager (GM) and acts in their absence with full authority. They are responsible for all general operations including Maintenance, Housekeeping and will have a working knowledge of Front Desk and Sales operations. The position assists the GM in leading the team in the development and implementation of property-wide strategies. The Operations/Assistant General Manager is responsible for:
All Food and Beverage and Banquet operations including coordinating with outside vendors and other PSU departments to insure a smooth running meeting/banquet for clients using the facilities.
Leading the restaurant and bar staff to provide great service, quality product at good value and positive financial results.
Creating and maintaining a culture of trust through high character and competence.
Minimum Qualifications
Management of at least 10 employees in restaurant and bar environment with related knowledge in hotel or other hospitality related industry.
Supervisory and Customer Service background
Budget responsibility
General knowledge of maintenance systems
Ability to work varying shifts and days off based on hotel occupancy in a 24/7 facility.
Possession of a valid State-issued driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree or significant related experience in hotel or restaurants
Supervisory experience in a banquet setting
Accounting/budgeting experience

Sunday to Saturday, 40 hours per week, schedule is flexible and variable based on hotel occupancy
Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement
Salary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band. PSU has a structured process for determining starting compensation, taking into account years of related experience, applicable skills, knowledge and abilities, market parity, and internal equity. The starting annual salary for this position will be between $58,836 and $69,876, but may be negotiated above this range dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
