Porter Scott is Hiring a Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney Near Sacramento, CA

Porter Scott, Sacramento’s premier civil litigation firm, is looking for attorneys with 1-3 years’ experience in medical malpractice who are ambitious and energetic self-starters with an interest in civil litigation. Excellent writing, oral advocacy and time-management skills are required. Prior law firm experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates should be members in good standing with the California State Bar. Please submit a cover letter and résumé for consideration.

The position offers competitive compensation, objective bonus opportunities, comprehensive medical benefits, 401k, flex-spending account, open PTO, paid Bar dues, CLE, the opportunity to work remotely, formal mentoring and litigation training. Pay range is $105,000 to $140,000 DOE.

We bring associates on-board and provide them with the support and training needed to flourish. Our goal is for every associate to ultimately become a shareholder with our office. No firm provides better experience more quickly than Porter Scott.

Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of litigation, including defense strategy development, written discovery, drafting and arguing motions, taking, and defending depositions, trial preparation and trial.
  • Work collaboratively with partners, other associates to develop appropriate legal strategies.
  • Provide direction to supporting legal assistants, law clerks and paralegals.
