JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Piercing Technician

 and Piercing Sales Specialist. This dual role combines the artistry and technical expertise of piercing with

exceptional sales and customer service skills. As a Piercing Technician and Piercing Sales Specialist, you

will be responsible for providing professional piercing services, outstanding customer service,

maintaining a safe and clean environment, and assisting customers in selecting and purchasing piercing

jewelry and related products. This position will work Mondays and Tuesdays. 

VALUE SKILL SET

• Proven experience as a Piercing Technician, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in

various piercing styles and placements.

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology

• Thorough knowledge of piercing techniques, aftercare procedures, infection control and safety

protocols.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide friendly, patient,

informative, and professional customer service.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple customer requests and sales

transactions efficiently.

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe and sanitary workspace.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

• Knowledge of current industry trends, jewelry designs, and materials is desirable.

• Ability to use specialized equipment such as sterilization machines, autoclaves, and piercing

tools

• Ability to follow all local and state regulations governing piercing

• Any relevant certifications or training in piercing and customer service are advantageous,

including Member of the Association of Professional Piercers recommended

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Piercing:

• Perform a wide range of piercing procedures, adhering to industry standards and best

practices.

• Consult with clients to understand their piercing preferences, ensuring a thorough

understanding of their desired location, style, and jewelry options.

• Provide expert advice on appropriate piercing placements, taking into consideration

anatomical limitations and personal preferences.

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including sterilization of equipment,

maintaining a clean workspace, and following strict hygiene protocols to ensure safety of

clients

• Offer aftercare instructions and guidance to clients, ensuring they understand proper healing

procedures and providing support throughout the healing process.

• Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques, and industry advancements in piercing.

• Ensure adequate stock supplies as needed.

• Provide a weekly recap to Management detailing transactions on a Sales Tracker Report

2. Sales and Customer Service:

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming and

inclusive environment.

• Engage with customers to understand their needs and preferences, providing personalized

recommendations for piercing jewelry and related products.

• Maintain an extensive knowledge of various types of piercing jewelry, materials, and designs

to educate customers and guide them towards the most suitable options.

• Maintain product knowledge to recommend the best jewelry for each client.

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, handling payment methods.

• Assist with inventory management, including restocking merchandise, conducting regular

inventory counts and ensuring the availability of popular items.

• Maintain a visually appealing and organized display of products to enhance the shopping

experience for customers.

• Provide exceptional after-sales/piercing support, addressing any inquiries, concerns, or

issues raised by customers promptly and professionally.

• Contribute to achieving sales targets and store performance goals through proactive selling

techniques and product promotion.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Manual Dexterity: The ability to perform intricate and precise movements with your hands is

essential for piercing. This includes handling piercing tools, manipulating jewelry, and

conducting piercing procedures with precision.

• Stamina: Piercing can be physically demanding, requiring the technician to stand for extended

periods and maintain focus and precision throughout the piercing process. Good stamina is

necessary to perform multiple piercings consecutively without compromising on quality.

• Strength: Piercing may require applying slight pressure or resistance when piercing certain areas,

such as cartilage or thicker tissues. Having adequate hand and wrist strength is beneficial for

these situations.

• Fine Motor Skills: Exceptional fine motor skills are necessary for handling small piercing

instruments, manipulating jewelry, and working with delicate body tissues. The ability to work

with precision and accuracy is crucial to ensure a successful and comfortable piercing experience

for clients.

• Visual Acuity: Good vision is important to properly assess the piercing site, determine proper

needle placement and ensure accurate alignment of the jewelry. Visual acuity is required to

identify potential risks or complications during the piercing process.

• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
