Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager/Chef to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, exceptional leadership abilities, and a strong understanding of restaurant management. This role requires the ability to manage a team, ensure high-quality food production, maintain a positive dining experience for guests, and drive profitability.

Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of daily restaurant operations, including staff management, inventory control, and customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize restaurant efficiency and productivity.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise restaurant staff, including kitchen staff.
  • Schedule employee shifts and manage payroll to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to staff to maintain high performance standards.

Menu Development and Food Quality:

  • Foster a culture of exceptional customer service among staff, ensuring guests receive prompt and courteous attention.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Proactively seek feedback from customers to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

Financial Management

  • Monitor restaurant expenses and budgetary goals, including food and labor costs.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without sacrificing quality or customer experience.
  • Analyze financial reports and performance metrics to identify opportunities for revenue growth and expense reduction.

Events:

  • Meet with clients, prepare and be present for the events.
  • Schedule staff and security, order and prep food, and take care of miscellaneous requests.
  • Analyze financial reports and performance metrics to identify opportunities for revenue growth and expense reduction.
  • Conduct regular evaluations to refine the menu package to ensure there is a profit for each event.

Wine and Whiskey Pairings and other restaurant events:

  • Provide a menu with selected drink pairings for our team to review every month.
  • Train staff to address clients in a professional manner understanding the pairings that the Chef has created.
  • Meet with staff to determine the monthly evening events the Porch Caf will be featuring.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager and/or Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
