The Details of the Position

Title: Maître d'

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Thursday - Monday (11 a.m. - 9 p.m.) utilizing this manager for both Brunch and Dinner shifts during the busiest times when they would have the most interaction with guests.

Work location: Poogan’s Porch

This role would be a front of the house manager with outstanding customer service who plays a vital role in the success of the restaurant by creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests. They go above and beyond to make sure that each guest feels welcome and comfortable throughout their dining experience. Works in tandem with the floor manager to supervise hosts, servers, SA’s and food runners and who also oversees greeting guests, seating them, and taking care of their needs during their dining experience. They are responsible for maintaining the dining room and ensuring that it is clean and presentable at all times.

Responsibilities (include the following and other responsibilities that may be assigned as needed):

● Warmly and graciously greet all guests, oversee and manage Hosts

● Record party details and provide an estimated waiting time when immediate seating is limited, Run podium and control flow of restaurant with Resy

● Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive a balanced number of seating's

● Schedule and train hosts

● Drive revenue by utilizing Resy and manipulating cover counts for maximum business

● Monitor emails and respond in a timely manner.

● Responsible for ambiance of restaurant (Temperature, music. lights)

● Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls as needed

● Maintain contact with kitchen, management, and serving staff to ensure accurate wait estimates

● Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup

● Receive and record guests' dining reservations

● Inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and clean restrooms when necessary.

● Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return

● Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer any suggestions for improvement

What You Bring to the Table

Your experience: 3 year of prior restaurant experience is preferred

Your education level: High school diploma or equivalent

Your abilities, skills, and traits:

● Demonstrate excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills

● Have experience with reservation systems and seating best practices

● Have ability to read, count, and write

● Work well under pressure and maintain fast, efficient service

● Exhibit a positive and friendly demeanor to guests and team members

● Be dependable and punctual

● Be able to stand for duration of shift, climb stairs, and lift and move heavy items
