Pomperaug Woods is recruiting for a hospitality focused Fitness Manager/Wellness Coordinator to join our team!

Here are a few of the daily Responsibilities of Wellness Coordinator 

• Responsible for the Fitness Center and overseeing the fitness programs in the community. 
• Assists the Community Life Services Director with other activities and programs in the community. 
• Brings new programs to community for residents and works independently.
• Training of residents on equipment usage
• Supervises the preventative maintenance and repair of exercise equipment; ensures facility cleanliness.
• Group Fitness Classes, create monthly group fitness schedule, teach classes as needed.
• Create and implement various programs, incentive programs, wellness programs, and educational programs.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have: 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in exercise science/exercise physiology OR licensed
• PT, PTA.
• Current ACSM or current NCCA-accredited, health-fitness related certifications
• (e.g. ACE, NCSF, NSCA, Cooper Institute)
• Certification or specialization in senior fitness/strength training and group
