The Charge Processing Specialist is responsible for processing charges, attaching modifiers to CPT procedure codes, interacting with CBO personnel to provide information and to assist in the resolution of billing or insurance issues and/or any patient concerns regarding any billing issues. Also, may be responsible for performing other administrative tasks as assigned as well as assisting other areas of the Revenue Cycl

Essential Functions

• Ensure physician charges are applied to correct patient account by verifying information.
• Verify all charge batches entered are processed with the correct revenue location.
• Review coding and charges for accuracy and completeness.
• Register patients into the system and verify correct insurance.
• Answer any questions a patient may have regarding their bill.
• Communicate with CBO regarding any billing issues or concerns of patients.
• Post payments when needed.
• Verify Insurance

Desired Job Qualifications/Skill Sets

• High School Diploma
• Excellent Verbal, telephone, and written correspondence skills.
• Experience in charge and payment posting within a physician’s office preferred.
• Prior experience with computers and Microsoft.
