Position Summary: For the 2023-2024 academic year, PAL Wynn's Center participants will be exploring through a lens of sustainability and community action. We are looking for a Media Art Specialist, with knowledge and experience in film/photography/podcast creation, to work with our middle school students to elevate their discoveries and calls of action.
Location: Wynn Center — Police Athletic League, Inc.
Hours: Monday-Friday 2:00PM-6:00PM
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Facilitate age appropriate programming through a positive youth development lens.
2. Plan and implement lessons & projects through the creative process of film, photography and content creation.
3. Provide a safe, structured environment for student learning.
4. Participate in planning sessions and/or staff development sessions with Center Directors.
5. Attends any required meetings with their PAL leadership staff to ensure quality programming.
6. Complete necessary reports to monitor student progress and participation; Includes: daily attendance, maintaining student portfolios and pre and post program assessments.
7. Attend PAL culminating activities and events such as photography shows, podcast listening parties, film premiers.
8. Communicate with parents and PAL administration to inform them of participants’ progress.
Education & Experience
• Minimum H.S. diploma/GED.
• College students or graduates preferred.
• 1-3 years experience working with youth from 6 to 18 years old.
• Must possess strong classroom management skills.
• Must demonstrate the ability to develop lesson plans.
• Must be responsible and organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a team player.
• Fluency in Spanish a plus.
Salary: $18.00 Per Hour
