Overall Objectives of PositionThe Manager-Maintenance is responsible for managing all maintenance activities for equipment and the facility in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. This includes managing capital and repair projects, preventive/predictive maintenance, and developing SOPs, PMs, work orders and training programs for future maintenance mechanics. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for creating and implementing the facility master plan, managing parts inventory, and ensuring compliance with laws and company policies. The Manager-Maintenance is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goal and objectives of applicable programs. The Manager-Maintenance is expected to live the Purpose and Values of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and will go beyond the call of duty. Primary Responsibilities Of The Manager-Maintenance
Establishes and manages the department’s budget to ensure financial goals are met or exceeded
Develops and utilizes maintenance key performance indicators (KPI) to drive improvements to plant reliability
Develops, implements, and maintains maintenance related systems to support the continuous manufacturing requirements
Ensures the department’s activities remain in or exceed the standards and specifications established by FSQA team
Manages maintenance inventory, purchasing and inventory control processes
Coordinates with on-site staff and Company management to review and approve plans for new equipment installation and layout to ensure operational efficiency
Responsible for maintenance, wastewater, inedible area, and refrigeration
Knowledge of freon refrigeration system and operations
Knowledge of boiler systems and PLCs
Manages environmental initiatives and compliance with local, state regulations
Serves as a member of the plant HACCP team
Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Follows all company GMP’s and works in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
Collaborates with suppliers and vendors to source spare parts, equipment, and maintenance services
Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment manuals, and spare parts inventory
Generates reports on equipment performance and maintenance costs
Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate person

Education/License/Certification and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Maintenance Management, Business Administration or related field and/or a combination of education and related employment experience in general maintenance equivalent to four (4) years
Six (6) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in facilities maintenance management and/or industrial mechanical preventative maintenance operations setting, monitoring, and coordinating the activities of subordinates, including general supervision, performance evaluations, disciplinary procedures, leave approvals, timesheets, etc. required
Must possess and maintain a Universal Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician Card or must obtain Universal Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician Card within one (1) year of date of hire in this position
Two (2) years’ experience working with budgets, including but not limited to required reports, budgets modifications, etc. required
OSHA General Industry 30 Hour Course preferred
Prior employment experience with responsibilities in a Beef slaughter and processing area required
Prior experience with greenfield project management preferred
Skills Required
Demonstrated knowledge of Harvest and processing electrical and mechanical equipment and functions
Strong safety knowledge of OSHA Regulations as they apply to maintenance. (NFPA 70E / LOTO etc.)
Excellent communication and presentation skills to all levels of the organization
Must work well independently and as a team, with demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities and balance diverse projects
Absolute confidentiality
Knowledge on vacuum seal equipment and how to troubleshoot
Knowledge on how to trouble shoot beef hide pullers, split saws, air de-hide knives, stationary band saws, industrial refrigeration equipment, air compressors, industrial boilers, and wastewater treatment
Must have a working knowledge of computers with the ability to work in a Windows environment with various software programs such as Word, WordPerfect, Excel, etc
Additional Requirements
Ability to work odd and irregular hours, as needed
Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check
Must possess a valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record according to Tribal insurance guidelines
Ability to travel and participate in required training, leadership development, and other events
Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully
